A Thanksgiving Cocktail November 25 2013
Of all the holidays, I have to say that Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. I wish I had some lofty reason around how it’s less commercial than other holidays and it’s an opportunity to reflect and give thanks, but to totally honest, I love Thanksgiving because no other holiday is built around food the way Thanksgiving is. And my favorite thing in the world is enjoying good food and drink with family and friends. Any time there’s a celebratory feast, there’s gotta be a great cocktail to go with it, so here’s a ReJigger Thanksgiving cocktail worthy of the occasion.
Because there’s so much eating involved, I wanted this cocktail to be on the lighter side and pair with all your traditional Thanksgiving favorites. We’ll start by pouring gin in the largest compartment. St. George Terroir works really well in this drink. If you’re not a fan of gin, vodka works just as well. Next, we’ll add some unsweetened apple cider to the medium compartment followed by some fresh lemon juice in the smallest compartment. Put a spoonful of cranberry sauce in the pint glass before adding ice and the rest of your ingredients. Give it a good shake and strain it into a Collins glass with ice. Top it with Prosecco, champagne or just soda water. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
